entry. Eleven year old Sabrina is the daughter of Lisa and Dewayne Little, who are growers for Gold Kist. According to Vicki
Morese, Director of the Lawrence County Chamber of Commerce, “The Chamber received 98 entries, coming from all over Alabama. The names were very creative and it was hard to just select one, but Nugget was cute, imaginative, and just a smidgen better than the others. Being in the poultry industry was not a prerequisite for entering the contest; however, it is a bonus that the winner is from a poultry farm family.” Each entry submitted received a family four-pack to the festival with the winning entry receiving $100.
Sponsors of the Alabama Chicken and Egg Festival consist of Alabama Farmers Cooperative, Alabama Propane Gas Association, Gold Kist, ALFA, Pepsi Cola, Alabama Department of Agriculture and Industries, The Citizens Bank, CBS Bank, City of Moulton, and Family Security Credit Union.
