Long
time AFC board member and Limestone Farmers Co-op board member W.B. Shaw
died December 13, 2005 at his home.
Mr.
Shaw was a life-long farmer in Limestone County. He served as president
and served on the board of directors for Limestone Farmers Co-op for 44
years. He also served as chairman and board member for Alabama Farmers
Cooperative. He was a member of the Alabama Cattlemen’s Association,
had received the Progressive Farmer Farm Family of the year in 1960 and
had been inducted into the Auburn University School of Agriculture Hall
of Fame.
He
is survived by his wife of 72 years, Frances Gilbert Shaw; one son,
James Gilbert Shaw and wife Glenda, of Dallas, TX; one daughter, Mary
Rodgers and husband Bob J. of Decatur; one daughter-in-law, Betty Shaw
of Decatur; two granddaughters; five grandsons; and 13
great-grandchildren. He is also survived by a brother, B. V. Shaw of
Madison and one sister, Martha Sandy of Tanner. |
