Crenshaw Christian Academy Administrator Angela Carpenter believes in providing ample opportunities for students to reach their full potential. Crenshaw students and faculty have been involved with PALS for many years. They have a PALS’ Adopt A Stream area the students maintain and keep clean. PALS provides them large bags to remove debris and pick up litter. PALS State Clean Campus Coordinator Mary Stanford spoke with all the students K-6 about littering, recycling and their carbon footprint.

The PALS litter education program is a great way for students to get involved in their school’s initiative for "green" learning. Stanford demonstrated how easy it is to reuse, renew and recycle while providing the students with an opportunity to learn about conservation. What better lesson than to understand how our actions impact the environment. There are so many ways a student can impact their school with some new school thinking. The whole point is "to rethink the way you have been thinking." Being green really means making a positive impact wherever you go and whatever you do. For our kids, bringing eco-friendly practices to their schools and communities provides opportunities to share enthusiasm and challenges for future generations.
