Chicken and Egg Fest Adds Bike Night & Motorcycle Run Print E-mail

Multiple Stage Acts to Include The Kentucky Headhunters and Black Oak Arkansas

The Alabama Chicken and Egg Festival is an interactive agricultural experience offering old-fashioned fun, food vendors featuring chicken entrees prepared in a variety of ways, and live entertainment by popular regional bands and local favorites. The eighth annual event is scheduled for April 13-15, 2012, at the Lions Club Fairgrounds in Moulton.

Highlights include a chicken clucking contest, where the audience selects the winner; egg toss competition, a favorite among children; eating contests where contestants stuff their faces with chicken wings and hard boiled eggs; and the "Down on the Farm" area featuring agriculture exhibits, antique tractors and Southern folk life artists like quilters, saddle makers, farriers, potters, blacksmith, and basket and broom makers. Other activities include a juried art show Rooster Call and Rooster Hall of Fame, an egg roulette competition and Little Chick Pageant.

Motorcyclists Invited to Friday VIP Bike Night

The Festival has been expanded to three days offering a special VIP night for motorcycle enthusiasts. Along with the Friday Night Bike Night, motorcyclists are also invited to take part in the Motorcycle Poker Run set for Saturday.

The new Friday Night Bike Night offers an evening of live music featuring Voodoo Bayou, a variety of good eats and VIP bike parking. In addition, judging begins for the new sanctioned poultry show where fancy fowls will be competing for a Grand Champion title.

Gates open at 5 p.m. on Friday and special, secured VIP parking is available to all motorcycle riders at the entrance to the fairgrounds. Anyone registering for the Motorcycle Chicken Poker Run on Friday evening receives two wristbands for free admission to the festival for the entire weekend.
