Levon Glisson of Andalusia died Friday, February 24, 2012, at his residence. Funeral services were held Monday, February 27, at the First Baptist Church with Dr. Fred Karthaus officiating with interment following in Andalusia Memorial Cemetery. Survivors include his wife, Donna Thomas Glisson of Andalusia; his sons and daughter-in-law, Tommy and Meg Morgan of Newnan, GA, and Westley Glisson of Auburn; daughter, Leah Glisson of Orlando, FL; his sister and brother-in-law, Jan and Frank King; brother, Tommy Glisson, all of Andalusia; several nieces and nephews; and mother-in-law, Jean Thomas of Andalusia. Pallbearers were Frank King, Dale Glisson, Sammy Brown, Larry Stallings, Ricky Wilks and Kendall Taylor. Honorary pallbearers were Benny Dunn; Covington County farmers; Alabama Farmers Cooperative staff, employees and board; and the Andalusia High School Class of 1971. Levon was well-respected in the Co-op family. He began his career with Anderson’s Peanuts in Andalusia in 1974 where he became assistant manager in 1976. In 1990, he joined Alabama Farmers Cooperative as a field representative. He remained in this position until 1994 when he became manager of Andalusia Farmers Co-op.
