On
Saturday, October 15, at the National Association for the Advancement of
Colored People (NAACP) 53rd Alabama State Conference Convention Freedom
Awards Banquet in Huntsville, Alabama Farmers Cooperative was awarded
the NAACP Partnership Award. The award was given for the company’s
"willingness to improve working conditions and promote fairness and
equality among employees in fostering a discrimination-free
environment." Pictured are Ms Alice Sams, Secretary, Alabama NAACP
State Conference and President of Huntsville-Madison County Branch of
the NAACP; Reverend R. L. Shanklin, President of the Alabama NAACP State
