Claudia Jane Thompson,
right, helped grow this 22.5 pound Bonnie O.S. Cross cabbage. Her
parents, Marty and Cheryl Thompson of Anderson, purchased 75 cabbage
plants from Lauderdale Farmers Co-op in Elgin and Claudia tended to her
cabbage every day after school. She is in Mrs. Trousdale’s
kindergarten class at Lauderdale Co. High School. Pictured with Claudia
is Robbie Neal, an employee at Elgin’s Co-op.
