Would
you enjoy a nostalgic vacation this spring? Perhaps just the right thing
would be a leisurely ride along with the Third Annual Sand Mountain to
Cullman Mule Train sponsored in part by Alabama Farmers Co-op and Gilbert
and Baker Ford of Albertville.
The
Mule Train is the kick-off event for Mule Days in Alabama. This is a
family event that you would long remember.
David
Currey, the event coordinator said, "We began this ride to |

in and commemorate the festivities of the Cullman Mule Day. We will
begin the Mule Train event on Tuesday evening, May 1, 2007, with a
get-acquainted party around the ‘ole camp fire’ and make camp in a
large hay field on the outskirts of Albertville. |

Parade through downtown Albertville in 2006.
|
"Wednesday
morning will begin our (approximately) 50 mile trek across North
Alabama. A parade through Albertville will mark the beginning of the
Mule Train with lunch provided around noon at a local farm on this
day."
Another
camp-out on Wednesday night will be on the banks of a meandering stream
in Brown’s Valley. Currey continued, "Rising on Thursday morning
we will hit the trail, through Blount County, arriving at our Thursday
night camp in Holly Pond, where we will have bluegrass entertainment at
its best." According to Currey everyone enjoyed this band last
year. |
|
The
mule train will arrive Friday in Cullman, where all those making this
ride will be eagerly awaiting the home cooked supper and fun show that
will have you rolling on the floor with laughter. Everyone will have the
opportunity to join in with all the amateur horse riding participants
from all areas.
The
Cullman Mule Show parade will be on Saturday followed by the annual Mule
Show and Pull that will last into the evening. Everyone is welcome.
Bring your entire family and your friends. Enjoy the laid-back
atmosphere and the leisure that only nostalgic |

wagon
and horseback travel can offer.
People
of all ages enjoy this event. Many retired people join in the wagon
train and horseback riding activities for their pastime. Wemp Edmondson,
a veteran train rider, led the train last year with his mule-drawn
wagon. It is equipped with all the luxurious amenities, including a
toilet and even a radio. Come and join in the fun and festivities of the
2007 Mule Days in Alabama.
