CELEBRATIN’ VALENTINES OUGHT EIGHT IN FLAT ROCK…
It
was Monday, holdin’ on near 2 p.m., as I headed east on County Road 131
toward Hatton and plannin’ on a short stop by at the Flat Rock General
Store. Precisely at that moment, Ms. Ida rang me on my cellular phone with
a sense of hurriedness. In Ms. Ida’s words, there was a problem with The
Flat Rock Romantics. The Widow Cora and Ms. Ida, with Slim’s permission,
was a holdin’ a Valentines ought eight "writin’ my feelin’s, in
my words, to my Valentine" contest.
Seems
she carried high feelin’s about some of the actual "Love"
words penciled down by certain men of The Flat Rock General Store.
Especial the "love" words of Mr. Slim himself, along with J.R.,
Dustin and some song words by the musician himself, Harley Hood. Course me
bein’ a true grammatical writer, she wanted me to see, read and ’valuate
the Valentine writin’s bein’ questioned.
Followin’
my ’valuation, I saw no heavy writin’ concerns. So I have decided to
share these Valentines writin’s entrants with you, the AFC
Cooperative Farming News readers. Beyond any concerns by Ms. Ida, I do
in pure seriousness believe you will enjoy them…
